Americana Iron Works & Fence · checked 3 Nov 2026

What the site does to paid clicks before the account restarts

Before un-pausing Google Ads, I checked what a paid visitor actually lands on at americanafence.com and what gets measured. These are live checks, run from outside your account.

1. Nine broken links on every page

The footer Quick Links and Services links point to old URLs. All nine return 404 "File not found":

Footer linkGoes toLive page it should use
Contact/contact 404/about-us/contact 200
Fence Repair in Chicago/fence/fence-repair-in-chicago 404/fence/fence-repair
Iron Fence · Wrought Iron Fences/fence/iron-fence-chicago, /fence/wrought-iron-fences 404Fence service pages
Metal Stair Repair · Outdoor Stairs/custom-ironworks/…-in-chicago 404Ironworks pages
Steel Fabrication · Areas We Service · Blog3 more 404sRedirect or remove

A paid visitor who scrolls to the footer and clicks Contact hits a dead page. These fixes are 301 redirects, about 30 minutes of work, and should go in before any spend.

2. Tracking: two of everything

TagFound firing on every pageMeaning

GA4G-CJE8TKT4SZ and G-098CG21XCQEach visit is split across two properties. If both are imported into Ads, conversions count double.

3. The estimate form is not on your site

The contact form is an iframe served from forms.marketing360.com. The submit happens on Marketing 360's domain, so your Google Ads tag on americanafence.com never sees a form lead unless that form fires its own conversion back. One thing works: I landed with a test gclid, browsed to Contact, and the gclid was still passed into the form. That means a CRM-to-Ads offline import (Monday.com) can be built on what's already there.

4. First week once I'm in the account

  1. Day 1: Read 12–24 months of history: search terms by service, cost per real job, waste from out-of-territory and DIY queries, and which conversions were Primary.
  2. Day 1–2: Fix the 404s, retire the duplicate GTM and GA4, and make one form-submit and one call conversion the only Primary actions.
  3. Day 2–3: Restart in tiers. Fire escape, code-violation and structural repair get their own campaign (high value, urgent, landlord and condo buyers), separate from fence installs and residential repair. Geo is downtown and the North Side only.
  4. Week 1: Connect Monday.com outcomes (quoted, won, job value) back to Ads, so bidding learns from booked jobs, not raw calls.

Rate: $60/hr. The audit plus the fixes above come to about 6 hours. Ongoing management is billed hourly with a monthly cap you set.
